It is already halfway through the summer and we are definitely feeling the heat in Vancouver. With only 3 weeks left of long endless summer days, there is still time to squeeze in a couple of weekend getaways before September rolls around. If you haven’t been to Kelowna yet, it is about a 4.5 hour drive away and home to a wide array of wineries, scenic views and fun activities for everyone. I thought I’d share with you some of my favourite places to eat, things to do, and IG photo worthy spots here on my blog!
Brunch: Bohemian Café & Catering Co.
TIP: Order from the kids menu if you’re not super hungry, there is no age limit! Pictured here is the french toast, blueberry oatmeal pancakes and a mini boh combo.
Lunch: CedarCreek Estate Winery
Makes sure to make reservations in advance because it does get quite busy during lunch time!
Dinner: Bouchons Bistro
If you’re looking for a nice elegant French cuisine spot, you should check out Bouchons Bistro. Their food is delicious, and ambience is great – highly recommend if you’re looking for fine dining options.
There are a plethora of choices when it comes to wineries in Kelowna. The ones I like the most have great tasting wines and a beautiful estate (perfect for those IG photos).
Quails’ Gate Estate Winery
Mission Hill Winery
CedarCreek Estate Winery
Summerhill Pyramid Winery
Sparkling Hill Resort – Vernon
A 45 minute drive from Kelowna, Sparkling Hill Resort is beautifully situated right by the Okanagan Lake with stunning views of mountain ranges and calming waters. My short 2 night stay in the beginning of summer left me feeling refreshed and rejuvenated for the busy weeks ahead. Definitely recommend checking it out if you haven’t already!
If you’re looking for some adventure, you can consider going zip-lining in Peachland, which is fairly close to Kelowna. It’s a lot of fun and suitable for an activity with a group of friends or family.
Okanagan ATV Tours Ltd
Also located in Peachland, this guided tour was perfect for enjoying the scenery and having the thrill of riding an ATV. Make sure you bring a change of clothes for after because it can get quite dusty during the tour!
Knox Mountain Park
Enjoy some breathtaking sights of the Okanagan Lake on top of Knox mountain during golden hour or in the morning. You can choose to drive up or take a hike for some rewarding views.
Let me know if any of you decide to check out my recommendations and I hope you enjoyed reading my first post! Look out for more of my posts to come on travel tips and itineraries on the blog.
