It’s that time of the year again where we start to trade in our crop tops for chunky sweaters. Fall is coming in quickly whether we’re ready for it or not. This means more gloomy and rainy days in Vancouver where you will either find me cozying up under my warm blanket at home or hanging out at cafes. The latter option is what I’ll be talking about here today. Vancouver is certainly not short of any coffee shops as I’m always finding new ones that continuously popup in different areas of the city.
Sharing my top 5 cafes picks in no particular order:
Le Marché St George
This quaint little corner cafe is a gem situated in the Riley Park neighbourhood on East 29th Avenue and St. George Street. I absolutely love everything about this cafe from their cute vintage decor to their coffee and pastries. I often come here to catch up with a friend while comfortably sipping on a hot cup of London fog outside. This is also the perfect place to bring your novel and just let the time pass by slowly.
I must admit that this cafe has THE best baguette sandwiches I’ve ever had. Located on the outskirts of downtown, I love coming here for lunch and ordering their pear or avocado sandwiches. The interior of the cafe is dreamy with their floor to ceiling window side seating area and vintage decor. The atmosphere makes you feel extra cozy inside and is the perfect place to unwind on a Saturday morning.
This is my go-to pastry shop in the heart of Burnaby Heights. If I could, I would eat their flaky croissants and delicate cakes everyday. They bake an assortment of fresh pastries every morning that pretty much sell out by the end of the day. Highly recommend stopping by for a pastry and coffee or just picking up a box of desserts to enjoy!
This cafe captured my heart when I first saw the swings inside. Everything about this place screams Instagram. Although their food/coffee is on the pricer side, I really enjoy their toast offerings and the overall peaceful atmosphere of the cafe. Definitely is a place where you could relax with friends or by yourself over the weekend.
I love the aesthetic of this cafe. Seemingly an old warehouse that has turned into a beautiful plant themed cafe, this place is massive with tons of seating for those who’d like to study or just meet up with a friend. They also open till 11pm which makes it a great spot to grab a coffee and dessert after dinner as they have a wide range of heavenly treats to indulge on.
Let me know if you’ve visited any of these places or have any other favourite cafes you’d like to share with me 🙂
